On the strong metric dimension of corona product graphs and join graphs

چکیده
Let G be a connected graph. A vertex w strongly resolves a pair u, v of vertices of G if there exists some shortest u− w path containing v or some shortest v − w path containing u. A set W of vertices is a strong resolving set for G if every pair of vertices of G is strongly resolved by some vertex of W . The smallest cardinality of a strong resolving set for G is called the strong metric dimension of G. It is known that the problem of computing this invariant is NP-hard. It is therefore desirable to reduce the problem of computing the strong metric dimension of product graphs, to the problem of computing some parameter of the factor graphs. We show that the problem of finding the strong metric dimension of the corona product G H, of two graphs G and H, can be transformed to the problem of finding certain clique number of H. As a consequence of the study we show that if H has diameter two, then the strong metric dimension of G H is obtained from the strong metric dimension of H and, if H is not connected or its diameter is greater than two, then the strong metric dimension of G H is obtained from the strong metric dimension

Product version of reciprocal degree distance of composite graphs
A {it topological index} of a graph is a real number related to the graph; it does not depend on labeling or pictorial representation of a graph. In this paper, we present the upper bounds for the product version of reciprocal degree distance of the tensor product, join and strong product of two graphs in terms of other graph invariants including the Harary index and Zagreb indices.
متن کاملOn the (adjacency) metric dimension of corona and strong product graphs and their local variants: Combinatorial and computational results
The metric dimension is quite a well-studied graph parameter. Recently, the adjacency metric dimension and the local metric dimension have been introduced. We combine these variants and introduce the local adjacency metric dimension. We show that the (local) metric dimension of the corona product of a graph of order n and some non-trivial graph H equals n times the (local) adjacency metric dime...

A subset W of the vertices of a graph G is a resolving set for G when for each pair of distinct vertices u,v in V (G) there exists w in W such that d(u,w)≠d(v,w). The cardinality of a minimum resolving set for G is the metric dimension of G. This concept has applications in many diverse areas including network discovery, robot navigation, image processing, combinatorial search and optimization....
متن کاملComputing PI and Hyper–Wiener Indices of Corona Product of some Graphs
Let G and H be two graphs. The corona product G o H is obtained by taking one copy of G and |V(G)| copies of H; and by joining each vertex of the i-th copy of H to the i-th vertex of G, i = 1, 2, …, |V(G)|. In this paper, we compute PI and hyper–Wiener indices of the corona product of graphs.
متن کاملOn the metric dimension of corona product graphs
For an ordered set W = {w1, w2, · · · , wk} of vertices and a vertex v in a connected graph G, the representation of v with respect to W is the ordered k-tuple r(v|W ) = (d(v, w1), d(v, w2), · · · , d(v, wk)) where d(x, y) represents the distance between the vertices x and y. The set W is called a resolving set for G if every vertex of G has a distinct representation. A resolving set containing...
